The Richmond Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association has a long tradition of recognizing talented students who are entering Virginia Tech for the first time through our scholarship program. The Scholarship Committee’s mission is to provide annual scholarships for future generations of Hokies.

2020 applications will be accepted between March 1 and May 1st, 2020

Please complete all sections and submit by Friday, May 1, 2020. Successful applicants will be notified in late May. We are planning to host a send-off picnic for the entire incoming freshman class from the Richmond area where we will recognize the current year’s scholarship recipients. Please be aware we will send out invitations by e-mail at a later date for you and your family. All new Hokies, families and alumni are invited to come. On behalf of our Virginia Tech alumni chapter, we hope each of you will join us.

How you can help:

Giving to the Richmond Chapter’s Scholarship Fund provides an opportunity to provide both an immediate impact and create a legacy by having your contributions matched by the Richmond Chapter. The Richmond Chapter will match individual or corporate gifts of $1,250 to create a one-time, $2,500 scholarship for an incoming freshman.* Financial contributions are tax deductible in accordance with the Richmond Chapter’s 501(c)3 nonprofit status and can be designated for scholarships for the next academic year or for our endowment. All donations are final and non-refundable.

* Matching

• The minimum one-time donation is $1,250 for matching by the Richmond Chapter VTAA. 
• Matching gifts are capped at 10 per annum and are made on a first come first serve basis.
• Contact scholarships@richmondhokies.org about whether donations to the endowment are currently matched.
• Corporate and employee matching gifts will be designated as “Future Leaders Scholarship presented by ____ Co. and the Richmond Chapter – Virginia Tech Alumni Association.”
