Remembering Dr. James “Bud” Robertson, Jr.

Distinguished Professor Emeritus of History & Longtime Friend of the Richmond Hokies

Dr. James “Bud” Robertson, Jr. was the recipient of every major award given in the Civil War field, a lecturer of national acclaim, and was in great demand as a speaker. He always made time for Virginia Tech Alumni groups and was often a speaker for our chapter.

In Memoriam to Dr. Robertson, the Richmond Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association has made a commitment to naming a scholarship in his honor annually starting in 2020. The chapter is also making a $15,000 grant to the Chapter’s Scholarship Endowment in his honor.
