The Student Sendoff Committee is looking for volunteers to help plan next year's Student Sendoff. 

The event will be between May 15, 2020 and August 15, 2020.

Planning begins February 15, 2020

Committee Goals: 

To establish the following:

  1. A date, time and location for the event in a timely manner in order that Blacksburg (Alumni Relations) will send communication (webpage, email and postcard) on our behalf
  2. Connections with the following to increase event participation
    • Current VT students
    • Incoming VT students
    • High school professionals
    • Previous attendees
    • Scholarship winners
    • Faculty and Staff
  3. Timelines and parameters for future events with a database for querying purposes
  4. Surveys and feedback from various stakeholders in the event (usually sent midway through the event to capture input while on attendees mind).


Free Versions of the following:

  1. G-Suite
  2. Eventbrite
  3. SurveyMonkey
  4. Todoist (Templates: Goals & Feedback, Issue Tracking)
  5. Eztexting

NOTE: Volunteers must be willing to use an intranet/discussion board as the primary method of communicating with the committee


Average Weekly Commitment is 30 minutes.
