2016 Scholarship Winners

The Richmond Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association has selected their 2016 Scholarship recipients. Nine outstanding high school seniors who displayed remarkable academic achievement, extra-curricular participation, and community service were each awarded a $2,500 scholarship to support their collegiate education at Virginia Tech.

 

Funded by a select number of events hosted/sponsored by the Richmond Chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association, and special contributions these annual scholarships are awarded to students from the Richmond metropolitan area including the counties of Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, Goochland, Powhatan, New Kent, and Charles City. 

 

On behalf of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association Richmond Chapter, we would like to recognize our nine scholarship recipients for 2016:

  • Jamie Mustian – Glen Allen High School, majoring in Neuroscience
  • Melissa Brown – James River High School, majoring in Literature and Language, English (Dr. James “Bud” Robertson & Betty Lee Robertson Scholarship)
  • Bailey Van Namen – Hanover High School, majoring in General Engineering
  • Taylor Eshmont – Maggie Walker High School, majoring in Animal and Poultry Science (Margaret Harriet “Margie” Foote Snead Memorial Scholarship)
  • Francesca Urcia – Midlothian High School, majoring in General Engineering
  • Zhide Jin – New Kent High School majoring, in General Engineering
  • Michelle Tieman – Glen Allen High School, majoring in General Engineering (Morgan Stanley Future Leaders scholarship)
  • Victoria Jenning - Clover Hill High School, majoring in Biology
  • Adam Baker - Atlee High School, majoring in Environmental Science
