Spring 2020 Online Commencement Ceremony

Congratulations, Hokies!

We’re ready to celebrate you and all that you’ve accomplished! Gather with your loved ones and meet us online for your spring commencement ceremony.

The ceremony will be online at vt.edu at 6:30 p.m. EDT on Friday, May 15, and will be viewable on-demand afterward. During the ceremony, you and your friends and family members will be able to comment and interact with the university and with each other.

All Virginia Tech campuses and students will be together, including undergraduate, master’s, Ph.D., doctor of veterinary medicine, and Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine students, and the Corps of Cadets. Students will hear a special message from their respective deans and then hear their names called.

The ceremony will include remarks from President Tim Sands and Provost Cyril Clarke, along with a message from Camille Schrier, Miss America 2020 and Class of 2018 alumna; a message from Bud Foster, the former defensive coordinator for the football team who now serves as special assistant to the athletic director; and a poem from Nikki Giovanni, a world-renowned poet and University Distinguished Professor in the Department of English.

Congratulations, Class of 2020 – and, of course, “Let’s Go, Hokies!”
