MarCentral Virginia Wine Festival Planning Committee Meeting Date: 03/14/12 Time: 7:00 PM Where: 2810 N. Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23294 (Virginia Tech Richmond Center Room 333) Details: This is an organizational meeting for any Richmond area Virginia Tech alumni or parents of current VT students who are interested in serving on the planning committee for the 2012 Central Virginia Wine Festival. Help is needed in planning all aspects of the event including logistics, entertainment, marketing, advertising, and more. Event planning experience is not necessary. 20

Irving Lowry Memorial Scholarship
Irving Lowry
Irving Lowry was raised in Beaverdam, Virginia. He was a raised as farmer’s son. He had a calling and attended Virginia Tech from 1969 to 1973, studying Industrial Engineering and operational Research now know as Industrial Systems and Engineering. Irving was excellent in the sciences and math. After graduation and later working for Dominion Virginia Power, (formerly know as VEPCO) he worked in the Information Technology department. He was quickly recognized for his capabilities and moved into a lead position on various project. It was clear that he had talent and remembered the Ut Proism motto. He was an individual that was always willing to assist others. This led to success as a project lead and ultimately led him to involvement with the Richmond Chapter of the Va Tech Alumni Association.
He was always willing his time and resources to make the chapter events a success. He served in chairmanship or volunteered time as requested. To show his devotion to Virginia Tech and to the Richmond Chapter, he left in his estate a bequeath to be used for the chapter scholarship fund. This gift will be awarded in his name to qualified entering freshmen at Virginia Tech in the Industrial Systems and Engineering curriculum until the completion of his gift.
