The Virginia Tech Alumni Association – Richmond Chapter is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Virginia Tech Police Officer Deriek Crouse on Thursday, December 8, 2011. On behalf of the 14,000+ Virginia Tech alumni across the Richmond area, our unconditional Hokie love and support goes out to his family, friends, and fellow Virginia Tech Police Department officers.

We’re humbled yet proud to announce that we have raised over $9,000.00, so our heartfelt appreciation goes out to all of you who made a contribution to the Officer Crouse Memorial Fund. The executive board of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association – Richmond Chapter is also proud to announce that they are making a contribution of $1000 to this memorial fund to put our grand total to at least $10,000!

This is an organizational meeting for any Richmond area Virginia Tech alumni or parents of current students who are interested in serving on the planning committee for the 2012 Central Virginia Wine Festival. Help is needed in planning all aspects of the event including logistics, entertainment, marketing, advertising, and more. Event planning experience is not necessary.

The 7th annual Central Virginia Wine Festival is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Innsbrook’s SnagAJob Pavilion.
